The BMW Winter Driving Experience offers an ultimate winter sport driving on an amazing snow and ice circuits in an exciting one-day course. Driving on ice and snow is not however only about high speeds: we focus on confident, safe driving in extreme conditions. And not to forget, we experience the joy of BMW xDrive in beautiful Arctic surroundings.
The Winter Driving Experience covers key elements vital to improving driving with limited friction, such as steering technique and vehicle dynamics. Exercises include emergency braking and avoiding, oversteering and drifting exercises and of course plenty of driving on icy and snowy circuits. To end the session, participants can compete against each other in a playful driving skills competition, utilizing skills learned throughout the day.
BMW Winter Driving Experience at Rovaniemi was certified as official BMW Driving Experience location in 2017 by BMW Driving Experience GmbH. Every car has an instructor with them at all times to maximize learning process. All our instructors have either rally or circuit racing backround. Event follows BMW driving events standards and has full support and exclusivity of BMW Finland.
Our car fleet consists fully of BMW xDrive cars.
Our BMW VIP Shuttle service is done with six BMW 5- series.
BMW WDE is held at the official home town of Santa Claus and the capital of Lapland, Rovaniemi. Rovaniemi lays exactly at Arctic Circle. Snowy and icy conditions are guarenteed throughout the event. Our tracks are built on land, so we do not have any risk with driving conditions even weather would be warmer than expected.
In March the daylight time is already 12 hours and we can expect sunny and bright winter weather. In Lapland you can easily spot reindeers and if we are lucky, there is chance to see northern lights.
Rovaniemi has excellent flight connections from Helsinki airport and also good variety of flights from abroad as well. Finnair flies 4 times a day between Helsinki and Rovaniemi. Flight time is 1 hour.
Our tracks are 15 min from Rovaniemi airport and from tracks to accommodation it takes 25 min. All transportations are done with our BMW VIP Shuttle service at location.
